Sam grew up in Charlotte, NC where he attended Myers Park High School and Charlotte College (Now UNC-C) where he graduated with a BA in Constitutional History.
He served in the Air Force reaching the rank of E-5 and working as an Airo-Medic. After that, he was impressed to take notice of Veterans, and worked in Veterans' Services for 15 years with the American Red Cross, and 15 more years with Am-Vets.
Sam was a world traveler when he was in the USAF and as a Veteran Service Rep. with the Red Cross, visiting Turkey, Thailand, London, and Greenland. While working for Am-Vets, he visited several cities in the US including New York, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, PN as well as others. His last assignment was in Muskogee where he built a group of friends and co-workers, as he worked, after his retirement as a volunteer at the VA Hospital for over 19 years, with a total accumulation of 14,349 ½ volunteer hours.
Sam passed into eternal rest on January 2, 2025 at the Jack C. Montgomery V.A. Medical Center, Muskogee, OK.
Sam was preceded in death by his father, David Shields Lindeman, in 1965 and his mother, Ruth Marley Lindeman, in 1988.
He is survived by his brothers and their wives, The Rev. David M. Lindeman and Mrs. Dianne S Lindeman; the Rev. Dr. John William Lindeman and Mrs. Nancy H. Lindeman all of North Carolina, as well as 2 nieces, 2 nephews and several great nieces and nephews and 1 great great nephew of several States.
Sam will be sorely missed by his many friends in OK, those in several places where he served, as well as his family.
