Sandy Merrifield, age 77, of Brookfield, formerly of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at her home.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 11, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.
Memorials to the Brookfield Library or Animal Shelter of Linn County may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.
Sandra Lee, daughter of Joseph Bowden and Reba Mason, was born October 17, 1945, in Long Beach, California
Sandy worked as a Registered Nurse at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa until her retirement in 2007.
Sandy was a fun, free spirit, hippie at heart! She spent the majority of her time watching her two favorite shows, Dr. Pole and Homicide Hunter, and was a SiFi fanatic. Sandy was a self-proclaimed Botanist and loved working with her plants. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world and Heath bars were her favorite sweet!
Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Bloss and husband, Chuck of Brookfield; her son, Jack Merrifield of Cherokee, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Taylor Bloss, Justin Bloss, Brad Croy, Anthony Croy, David Boylan, Sara Heberlee, Hunter Ogle, Hannah Ogle, Katie, Crystal Bloss, and Alec Bloss; 20 great grandchildren; three sisters, Janice Bartley of Norwalk, Iowa, Susan House and husband, John of Des Moines, Iowa, and Becky Bowden of Des Moines, Iowa; four brothers, Larry Bowden of Des Moines, Iowa, Mike Bowden and Jeannie of Des Moines, Iowa, Ray Bowden of Norwalk, Iowa, and David Bowden of Norwalk, Iowa; her two best friends, Mary Ann Lodin and Deana Scheffler; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Glenda Bowden.
