Sandra Joanne Pyle Mooney, 79, of Tool, TX passed away on February 3, 2024, at home. Sandra was born on September 7, 1944, to Joe and Margaret Pyle in Peeltown, Texas. She graduated from Scurry-Rosser High School in 1963. Sandra received her associate’s degree at Henderson County Jr. College and Bachelors and Master’s degree from East Texas State University. She worked as a teacher throughout her 25-plus year career before retiring. Sandra loved to travel and spent time all over the world the last 10 years in places like Hawaii, Alaska, Japan, Europe and Canada which was one of her favorites. Her most precious time is whatever she was doing with her family and friends, playing cards, traveling or just being with them. Sandra was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. Her parents, husband of 51 years Floyd Mooney, son David Allan Mooney, brother James Lehew and daughter in law, Donna Mooney, preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory are sons: Rocky Mooney and Dusty Mooney and wife Teresa; grandchildren: Elizabeth Bolle and husband David and Laura Spencer and husband Martin; great grandchildren: Katelynn, Emmalin, Ryanne, Nicholas, Chase, and Grace; siblings: Paula Smith and husband David and Robert Lehew and wife Beth; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
