Scott Rivard Obituary

Scott was born June 25, 1962, in Mount Clemens, Mich. to the late Lloyd and Elva "Bunny" (Hunsberger) Rivard, and grew up in New Baltimore. Soon after graduating from Anchor Bay High School, Scott ventured south to find his fortunes in Texas and Arizona. There, he built his own software and IT company.
Returning to Michigan in 2018, Scott continued running his business while enjoying life on the water, fishing on Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair, and watching boat races with friends. Scott cherished music and fun times, including bonfires on the beach, euchre and dominos. He always had a smile, a laugh, and sometimes a song sung with his guitar and resonant voice. His good looks and charisma were legendary.
Scott was always willing to lend a helping hand, and he had a natural ability to build or fix just about anything - from computer systems to engines to homes. His creativity and quality craftsmanship were key in a recent major renovation of the family cottage.
Scott is survived by daughter Alyssa (Rome) Grossman, granddaughter Zuri Grossman, loving sisters Julie (Dave) Hein and Lisa (Jon) Whitener, six nephews, a niece, and countless friends who will forever cherish his can-do, fun-loving nature. Scott's welcoming personality, infectious laugh, boundless energy, and "joie de vivre" will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held in Lexington, Mich. on August 30, 2025, at 2 p.m. followed by a life celebration and dinner. Contact family at [email protected] for details.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I only knew Scott for a short time. (I walk our neighborhood daily, so I'd check on him a couple times a week.) He was so friendly!! I'll miss him.
