Shadow (Ev'va) Lee Applehans went to meet her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday September 28, 2025. Shadow was a proud graduate of Otsego High School, Class of 1969, after which she graduated from Western Nebraska Community College as a licensed Practical Nurse in 1993, and received her bachelor's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Metropolitan State University (Denver, CO) in 2017. Along with her commitment to health care, she was a lifelong lover of animals, having cared for, with love, many pets and horses. She was also a graduate of the Eastern Wyoming College Veterinary Technician program, fulfilling her dream of healing animals by practicing veterinary health care.

Shadow was the loving daughter of Helen (Cote) and Burdett C. Belcher was born June 4, 1951. She was also preceded-in death by her brother, Burdett A. (Sonny) Betcher -and sister Delores Youngs Woods.

Shadow will be remembered for her strength, her love of her family, and her unshakable love of her savior Jesus Christ. In turn she shared that love in all that she did, bringing joy and caring to her family and loved one. She was a traveler, living in 4 different states, including Colorado and Wyoming, where she pursued her passion for freedom on the open ranges, where she could be found riding the horses she loved into the setting sun.

A memorial celebration of Shadow's life will be held in late spring or early summer 2026.
