Sharon K. Jacob

Sharon K. Jacob, also known to many as "Shushi", passed away September 26, 2024. She was 80 years old. Sharon was born to Kenneth and Edwina (nee Ouimet) Maust on April 18, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois.
The beloved wife to Tom W. Jacob, she made friends easily wherever she went and was always blessed with a great number of people who cared for her. She was Tom's social secretary and he was the grateful beneficiary of those lasting friendships.
Sharon was accomplished in many skills such as crafting, knitting, painting, needle point, and crocheting. However, nothing brought Sharon more joy than being an educator. She was a graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart and would later graduate from the University of Detroit as an English and Education major. Following college, she taught at Edison School in Madison Heights for two years and would retire from the Academy of the Sacred Heart after 37 years of teaching primary school. She was a highly respected teacher and mentor, so much so that Metro Parent Magazine awarded her the 1996 "Golden Apple Award" of merit for excellence in teaching. Sharon enjoyed sharing stories about the accomplishments of the children she taught. Her greatest legacy is the unforgettable imprint she left on countless lives.
She was the dear sister of Kenneth (Gayle) Maust, Linda (Bill) Slogeris, and Bill Maust. Sharon is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kathryn Tobias, Kenneth Maust, Becky Slogeris, Ben Slogeris, as well as her great-nieces and nephews, Hunter and Jackson Tobias, Hazel Maust, and Lily Krolik.
A Funeral Service will take place in her memory at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd., Clawson, October 3, 2024, at 1pm. Friends may begin visiting at 11am. Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
