Sharon Moss Obituary

Sharon Lissette Moss, 42, passed away peacefully on November 7th, 2025, in Murray, Utah, surrounded by loved ones.

Sharon was born on April 4th, 1983, in Guayaquil, Guayas, Ecuador, to Yolanda Man Hing and Plinio Freire.. She was the second child, with her older brother, Danny Freire, as her 4-year senior.

Sharon spent her childhood in Ecuador with her parents and brother, where she enjoyed being a student and writing. In August of 2000, she moved to the United States as a foreign exchange student. She lived with the Sauls, who would thereafter be known as her "American Family", and graduated from Gallatin High School in 2001.

She then moved and spent some time in Litchfield Park, Arizona, with her American family until she moved out to go to college at BYU Provo, Utah, in May of 2002. Sharon graduated with her bachelor's degree in Secondary Education. She was a natural at teaching and taught in public schools for 2 years during which time she earned a Teacher of the Year award. She was working as a preschool teacher at her in-home preschool, where she taught children the basics of Spanish- her native language- when she passed.

During her time with the Sauls, she was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized and confirmed a member of the church on November 12th, 2000. She later made the selfless decision to serve as a full-time missionary for the church. She served 18 months as a missionary in the New York, Rochester mission, where she met her husband, Brian, who was also serving as a full-time missionary. They reconnected years later at a mission reunion. They were sealed for time and all eternity on March 19, 2010, in the St. George, Utah temple. Brian and Sharon have resided in St. George, Utah ever since. They enjoyed 15 wonderful years together.

In her early adult years, Sharon enjoyed traveling. Some of the most prominent places she has visited include Japan, Argentina, Mexico, and Canada. As a wife and mother, that sense of adventure never changed. She did a lot of that adventuring with her family during camping trips, lake trips, fishing trips, and beach trips. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with her family above all else.

Sharon will be forever remembered for her constant service to others. Besides being a wife and mother and serving her family, she was always the first person to offer a helping hand, a meal, a kind word, or loving advice. She did so without ever asking for anything in return. She ended her mortal life in that same spirit by donating life-saving organs to people in need. All organs were matched and successfully received by the recipients.

Sharon's greatest role was as a mother to her 4 beautiful children, Ashlyn (11), Atlas (11- twins) Annie (9), and Cheeto (Asher-6), who she precedes in death. Sharon was the most devoted mother to her children, and she enjoyed every moment she had with them. She was the perfect combination of firm and kind, compassionate and disciplinary. She was so involved with her children's lives as she served in the school PTA, the school board, and as team mom. Most importantly, she taught her children what was most important in life and instilled in them a legacy of faith in their Savior, Jesus Christ, and in His restored gospel that will last for generations.

Sharon is preceded in death by her "American mom", Lorraine Sauls.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Moss; their 4 children, Atlas, Ashlyn, Annie, and Cheeto (Asher) Moss; her parents, Yolanda Man Hing and Plinio Freire.; her brother, Danny Freire; her 7 "American family" siblings; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins who love and will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on November 15th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bloomington Hills Stake Center. A viewing will begin at held at 8:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery. 1777 S Dixie Dr, St. George, UT 84770 following the services.
