Sharon Schuler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bosse Funeral Home, Inc. - Louisville on Mar. 20, 2025.
Sharon Wegman Schuler, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on March 17, 2025, after a long illness.
Born on October 30, 1951, in Louisville, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frances Gilligan.
Sharon grew up in a loving, intergenerational household in the Old Louisville neighborhood and attended St. Philip Neri School. In her teenage years, her family moved to the Schnitzelburg neighborhood, where she graduated from Presentation Academy in 1969. She was a member of St. Stephen Martyr Parish, where her three children attended school. She enjoyed a fulfilling career, first at Bacons Department Store and later at Burdorf Interiors, where her warmth and dedication touched the lives of many. Sharon cherished the time she spent with friends and family, finding her greatest joy in the accomplishments and celebrations of her eight grandchildren-Ezra, Jonah, Ava, Jack, Charlotte, Lea, Henry, and Aria-and could often be found cheering them on at ballgames or celebrating their milestones. Sharon was also a member of the Keswick Democratic Club, where she enjoyed their chicken fries and social activities, and building lasting friendships.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Gilligan.
Sharon is survived by her adoring husband of 16 years, William Schuler. Sharon and Bill shared a special bond, creating memories through their travels to Florida, New Orleans, and Cincinnati, as well as boating adventures on the Ohio River. She is also survived by her son, Phillip Wegman (Jackie); daughters, Angie Wegman and Nikki Frantz (Alex); stepson, Greg Schuler (Tina); stepdaughter, Jessica Shields (Bryan); and her brother, Chris Murphy (Sherri).
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
A memorial service will be held at 7 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenues. Memorial visiting will be from 2 PM till the time of the service at 7 PM, also at the funeral home.
