Sheila Fowler Byrd of Spartanburg, SC passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the age of 56. She was born on June 12 ,1968 to the late Gilbert Bernard and Betty Hatchette Fowler.
Sheila was born in Spartanburg and her family moved to Albemarle, NC, where she graduated from West Stanly High School in Oakboro, NC. She was in the finance business for over 30 years, first with Security Finance Corporation for 20+ years, and presently with Spartanburg Financial Services, Inc. Outside of work, Sheila found great joy in helping raise her beloved granddaughter, her heart, who calls her Nana.
She is survived by the love of her life, Reggie Biggerstaff; granddaughter, Abby Blasingame; sister, Deborah Fowler Phillips; life-long friend, Mary Bennett Casey; and many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Brent Byrd, and sister, Wanda Henderson.
Visitation will be 2:00-2:45pm on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm, conducted by Rev. Terry Brannon.
In lieu of flowers, a 529 college plan will be established in Abby Blasingame’s name. If you would like to contribute to the college plan, please make a check payable to Reggie Biggerstaff and mail to 324 Earl Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
