KREAGER
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Shelly Lynn Kreager, who left this world peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the age of 61, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures – spending evenings playing cards with her husband Dennis, laughing over friendly competition. Summers were for sandy toes and salty breezes on the beaches of North Carolina, where she made cherished memories with her daughters and nephew. She also treasured her girls' weekends in Las Vegas with her mom and sister, where love, laughter, and togetherness were always at the heart of every adventure.
Born August 18, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio, Shelly was a proud 1982 graduate of Grove City High School. She carried the values she learned there – kindness, resilience, and a love for learning – into every endeavor throughout her life. For many years, she found joy and fulfillment serving as the elementary school secretary for Madison Plains Primary School, where her warmth and compassion touched the lives of students, parents, and staff alike. Miss Shelly's desk was more than a workspace – it was a place where children found comfort, colleagues found friendship, and everyone who passed through found a reason to smile. Whether it was a warm greeting in the morning or listening ear during a tough day, Shelly gave the best of herself to others, even when facing her own battles.
Shelly is survived by her devoted Husband Dennis McKinley; Daughters Danielle Kreager, Lindsey Kreager, and Kendra Kreager; Step-Brothers Ernie, Bruce, Mike, and Mark Lang, Step-Sisters Cathy and Cherie; Step-Mother Rosemary Longberry; Sister Kim (Ray) Jerome; Nephew Wade (Ashley) Johnson; Aunts Myrna (Bob) Butler and Patt Longberry; Cousins James (Frank) Harlow and Eric (Dara) Longberry. Shelly was preceded in death by her Parents Edward Longberry and Janice (Ernie) Lang; Step-Brother Carl Lang; Uncle Bill Longberry.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the legacy Shelly leaves behind – a legacy of kindness, service, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us every day.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM in the gymnasium of the Madison Plains Intermediate School, 9940 State Route 38 SW,
London, Ohio 43140.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you plant a tree somewhere in her memory – giving life to the earth she so deeply cherished, and creating a living tribute that will grow with love for generations to come.
