Sherie Ann Page Dicus
1961 - 2024
Sherie Ann Page Dicus passed away on January 3, 2024, at the young age of 62 in
Pensacola, Florida. She was born in
Pensacola, Florida and attended Eastwood High School in
El Paso, Texas, and graduated from Pine Forest High School in
Pensacola, Florida. She went on to cosmetology school and upon graduation, she opened the Clipper Ship Salon on Old Corry Field Road. When that business failed, she walked across the street and began her barbering career at White's Barber & Style shop. From there, she moved to Bellview Barbering and opened her own barber shop, Sherie's Cut-N-Up on Mobile Highway and Blue Angel Parkway. She's been barbering for over 41 years, and it is a career she enjoyed every single day.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Janet Mauck, her Aunt, Linda Page, her two best friends Karen Henderson Ellis and Cyndie Hausfeld. Thirteen days before her death, her father, Don Page passed away while she was in the hospital. She didn't get a chance to tell him goodbye.
Sherie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Larry Dicus. Together they had two children, Kellie Hawkins (Josh) and Wesley Aaron Dicus; two grandchildren, Kallie Grace Hawkins (10), and Logan Phillip Hawkins (1). She leaves behind her sister, Suzie Page; half-brother, Donnie Page, Jr.; three brothers-in-law, John Allen Dicus (Catherine), Danny Dicus (Becky) and Robb Dicus (Janis); and she numerous nieces and nephews. Step brothers, Ken (Sherri) Pitts, and Eric (Kelly) Pitts, and step sisters, Kim (Gerry) Schleuter, Debbie Mauck and Heather Mauck. Her Aunt, Ann Smart (mother's sister) and Uncle, Buddy Page (father's brother); along with many cousins, including Cyndy Page who recently went through a successful kidney transplant; Shelly Zecckine and Patti Frost were tied for the favorite special cousins.
While her children were young and at home, their house was always full of their friends. Sherie welcomed every child into her home with open arms and great life advice; one of the things she used to tell the kids is "Life is NOT a rehearsal, there are no do-overs". Some of her adopted children that she leaves behind are Dawn Schulze, Megan McDonald, and Ryan Burden.
Sherie was released from the hospital on Saturday, December 23. The family spent Christmas Eve together, stayed the night with the grandchildren, woke up and played with all the toys that Santa brought them, then she talked Larry into taking her to Biloxi for a couple of days just to get away from things. They came back to Pensacola on Thursday and she was admitted into the ICU that night, December 28th. She decided to enter Hospice Care on January 1, 2024 and passed away in a very peaceful room on January 3, 2024 surrounded by her family.
The last few weeks of her life was lived doing things she loved: spending time with her family, traveling (even if it was just over to Biloxi), playing with her grandchildren and spoiling them rotten. She loved cruising in the open seas, and we do believe if that had been possible, she would have been on a boat in the middle of the ocean instead of in the hospital, or maybe at the skating rink with her granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is something Sherie was passionate about – every child needs a chance to have fun, especially when they're sick. You can do a one-time donation and make it an honor/memorial gift and dedicate it to Sherie A. Dicus. You will have the option to send an E-Card to the family which can be sent to her son, Wesley Aaron Dicus. His email address is

Sherie lived life to the fullest and was always ready for a party. We are not having a traditional funeral for her; instead, we are having a celebration of life party for her. This will be held at her barber shop, Sherie's Cut-N-Up, 6929 Mobile Highway,
Pensacola, Florida 32526 on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at noon. We will have an open mic for storytelling, so think of a good story about Sherie that you want to share with everyone! And come wearing your Mardi Gras beads this is a CELEBRATION, not a funeral!
