March 28th, 2025 at the age of 39Sherif M. S. Ibrahim, 39, beloved son of Mohamed (Sofi) Ibrahim and Stephanie Steinbart, and dear brother of Janet Ibrahim, passed away in his home on March 28, 2025. He was a graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UMBC, and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Iowa. He worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 7 years. He loved music, computers, animals and making soaps for his family and friends. He was a member of the American Chemical Society and had a deep curiosity for all things scientific. He was a devoted caretaker to his two cats, Barney and Athena. He is survived by his parents, his sister, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. His kindness, gentleness, empathy, humor and brilliance will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
