On November 28, 2024, Shirley Ann (Hauser) Hansel went to be with her Lord and Savior. Born to Carl and Lillian (Johnson) Hauser, she lived most of her life in the Massillon area until, when in the fall of 2019, she sold her house of 65 years and moved to Florida to live with her son, Scott and his wife Wendy. After five years she returned to Massillon to live with her daughter, Marsha and her husband Thom. She graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1952. She married Joseph Walter Hansel in 1953. They were married just a few weeks shy of 50 years when in May of 2003 Joseph went to be with his Lord.

Shirley loved her family and was actively involved with them. She enjoyed teaching Bible Study, gardening, crocheting, spending time with friends and also being involved with the church. One of her favorite vacation spots was going to the ocean.

Survivors include: son Joseph Scott (Wendy) Hansel, Port Orange, FL; daughters Marsha Ann (Thomas) Griffith, and Jodi Ann (Bryan) Weick-Davis, both of Massillon, Ohio. Grandchildren Joseph (Shannon) Hansel, Bethany Hansel, Katelyn (Blake) Arabie, Nathan, Matthew, and Samuel Hansel; Tyler (Alyssa) Griffith, and Chelsie (John) DeLeon; Misty and Heather Weick; Great-grandchildren Adelyn Hansel, Eloise Arabie, Daniel and Owen Reddy, Margo and Brinn Hansel, Elias, Haven, and Luna Griffith; brother Charles (Lois) Hauser; Millersburg, Ohio, sisters Jan (Ken) Smith, Massillon, Ohio, Carol (Monroe) Maxheimer, and Patricia (Harry/Toby) Nodo, and sisters-in-law Ann (Ted) Hansel and Beth (Jim) McConaghy. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
