Published by Colonial Funeral Home of Irving on Jun. 13, 2005.
Shirley Ruedelle Wygal McNabb Reese, age 66, a resident of Irving for 20 years, went home to our Lord suddenly on Friday, June 10, 2005. She was born in Childress, Texas on January 9, 1939. Shirley married December 29, 1956 to Billy Ray McNabb, and married January 21, 1984 to Timothy Eugene Reese. Shirley is the daughter of the late Grady Wygal and Polly Cooke Wygal Bruce. Family members include her daughters, Debbie McNabb Grogan, DeLana McNabb Brown Jones, Bridgett McNabb; son, Billy Ray McNabb Jr.; brothers, Fred Wygal, Tony Wygal and Roland Bruce; sister, Billie Bruce McClelland; grandchildren, April Grogan, Marcus Grogan III and their father Marcus Grogan Jr.; Jonathan Soza and his father, Robert Soza; R.J. Brown, Jr. and Waylon Brown and their father Ray Brown; son-in-law Lincoln Jones; nieces, nephews, many, many friends; her beloved cousins, Lonnie Nixon and Larry Don Mosely; and her Colorado young friend, Matthew Soukup. She is preceded in death by daughter, Desiree McNabb; brother, Mickey Wygal; sisters, Carolyn Wygal, Juanita “Nita” Bruce Curtis and Fraulein Bruce Edwards Green. She enjoyed playing Bridge with the ladies from the East Side of Fort Worth for the last 35 years. This group played Bridge together and mom said they were "competitive" for that $1.50. Another favorite pastime of hers was gathering with the King Richard “Broads” in Irving, TX and enjoying all of their creative endeavors for over 20 years. A memorial service will be held in Irving 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2005 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services in Childress will be held Saturday, June 18th at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Denton State School. She will be greatly missed.

The news of Aunt Shirley's death brought a great sense of loss and flooded my mind with beautiful memories. I adored her and have wonderful memories of visiting during the summer. She bought me a record by Chubby Checker and I learned to do the twist that summer. What a wonderful wonderful person she was.
