Shirley was known as a free spirt with a kind heart, who couldnt resist singing along to her favorite music, and just had a love for the simple joys in life. She found peace and happiness in a quiet moment, whether it was working on 1,000- piece puzzles, working in her flower garden, or trying out a new recipe she found. She looked forward to game nights with family, watching RuPaul and bringing laughter to those around her.
Family was everything to Shirley. She will be missed by her siblings: Carol Ann Hughes, Mary Crans, Cynthia Galligan, and James Swimley. Her four children: Anthony Swimley, Jessica Collins, Stanley Swimley, and Ashley Swimley. Shirley's heart swelled with pride for her children, and her love for them extended endlessly to her precious grandchildren: Jayden, Violet, Paige, Billy, the twins Eliana and Everliegh as well as numerous extended family members and friends. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
A private, intimate viewing was held for her family, and a celebration of life ceremony will be held at Corning American Legion, 8 River Rd. Corning, NY on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 1:00pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Carpenters Funeral Home, Corning.
