Shockria Girgis

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shockria Girgis, devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the age of 90 in her residence in Greenville, SC, surrounded by her loving family.
A founding member of St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, Shockria's dedication to her faith was unparalleled, always the first one to arrive at church and actively involved in its activities. She cherished the warmth of her church community and found solace in its embrace.
Professionally, Shockria was a talented corporate accountant in the banking industry, known for her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering work ethic.
In her personal life, Shockria found joy in traveling, discovering new places, and immersing herself in different cultures. However, her true passion was cooking, especially preparing sweet treats for her family and friends to enjoy. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of delicious creations, a reflection of her nurturing and giving nature.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Hala Habib and husband, Dr. Magdy Habib; her son, Abe Raghib and wife, Catherine Raghib; and eight cherished grandchildren.
In death, Shockria was reunited with her beloved husband, Fawzy Girgis; daughter, Inas Hanna; and her parents, Metry and Galila Gabrial.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Shockria Girgis will be held on November 6, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, where she spent countless meaningful moments. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Shockria's memory will forever be treasured by all those who knew her, her legacy of love, faith, and compassion living on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have shared in her life's journey. May she rest in eternal peace.
