Sosamma J. Isaac, 76, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 20, 1949, in Niranam, Kerala, India, to the late Iype Eapen and Aleyamma Kurian Eapen.
Sosamma was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud Ammachi (grandmother). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnson D. Isaac, and her sibling, Iype Eapen.
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her love are her children: Susan Rouff (Russell), Shirly Barnett (Timothy), Dr. Shiela Rhoads (David), and Jones Isaac-Chafin (Joshua). She was the adored Ammachi to her precious grandchildren: Isabella, Christopher, TJ (Alana), Ashley, Wayne, Isaac, Sophia, and Jacob. Sosamma is also survived by her sister, Sarama John (John G. Samuel), and all of her nieces and nephews and their family in India.
A selfless and caring woman, Sosamma devoted her life to her children, always putting them first and guiding them with grace, strength, affection, and unwavering faith in God.
For over 20 years, Sosamma worked faithfully at Sears, where her kindness, dedication, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on both coworkers and customers. She found peace in her garden, strength in her daily workouts, and joy in cooking for others—sharing her love one meal at a time. She also loved simply enjoying good food and laughter with those she cherished most. Sosamma excelled in and pursued an education in accounting and bookkeeping.
In recent years, Sosamma embraced life in new ways, rediscovering herself through memorable trips with her children and moments of quiet reflection. Even through her courageous battle with Glioblastoma, she faced every challenge with remarkable faith, perseverance, and grace. Her strength inspired all who walked beside her through that journey.
Above all, she cherished being Ammachi, a proud grandmother whose warmth, laughter, and unconditional love filled every room she entered. She was everyone’s mom—because no one ever left her presence hungry or unfed.
Sosamma’s legacy of love, hard work, and compassion will forever live on in her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
