Stacey Lynn Highfield (48) passed away unexpectedly at Genesys Hospital on June 6, 2025. Stacey was the director of youth and young adult ministries at Fenton United Methodist Church. She attended Holly Area Schools, Taylor University, William Tyndale College and graduated with a B.A. degree in English Literature from Madonna University. Stacey is survived by her parents, Alan and Marilyn Highfield, her brother Joshua (Aimee) and her two nieces, Emma and Lilee. Stacey was preceded in death by her younger brother Joel earlier this year.
Stacey spent several summers of her childhood at Lake Louise Baptist Camp where her father was Resident Director. Later in her teens and early twenties she served for several weeks as a cabin leader (counselor) at Lake Louise Baptist Camp, and Lake Louise United Methodist Camp. She also served on full time staff for one summer at the Methodist Camp.
Stacey became a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church in 2014 and was currently on the path to become a deacon in the United Methodist Church. She deeply loved and cherished her church family.
Stacey loved all young people and was fully dedicated to being Emma and Lilee's aunt. She was their most prolific photographer and listened to whatever they talked about with undivided attention. Stacey shared her love of reading and learning with Emma and Lilee and was always interested in discussing what they were reading or learning at school. You would find Stacey at every basketball, volleyball or softball game cheering them on. She attended many band concerts and recitals, so proud to be their aunt.
Along with being an adoring aunt, Stacey was an avid reader, writer/poet, photographer, podcast listener, frequent laugher, and lover of people and stories. Stacey was kind, compassionate, with a heart of gold. Most of all, she was passionate about building relationships and sharing God's all-consuming love with everyone.
A visitation will be held at Dryer Funeral Home on Tuesday June 10, 2025 from 5-8PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 11, 2025 at the Fenton United Methodist Church at 11AM with Pastor Jeff Jagger and Pastor Ed Pedley officiating, with a visitation from 10AM until the time of the service. Memorial donations can be made to: Lake Louise United Methodist Camp or Higher Ground at Lake Louise. www.dryerfuneralhomeholly.com
