Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Stan Satkowiak died February 21, 2024 at home with family by his side. He was 87 years old, born on April 17, 1936 to the late Stanley Sr. and Ann (Wisniewski) Satkowiak in Bay City, Michigan. He married Marvel C. (Green) April 13, 1955 and she preceded him in death in 2009. Stan proudly served in the United States Army where he was a Tank Driver. After the Army he worked for General Motors for many years before retiring in 1992. He was a true Michigan outdoorsmen and lover of nature. Stanley looked forward to hunting, fishing, time shooting at the range and being the second mate of a salmon fishing charter. Most of all, he enjoyed time with the guys and his cherished family.
Left to cherish his memories are children: Mark (Tammy) Satkowiak, Martin Satkowiak, Kerry Satkowiak a son-in-law Greg Van Driessche; and seven grandchildren: Nicole (Art), Mandi, Shane (April), Tyler (Rachel), Jenna, Kara, Dan (Angela); two great-grandchildren: Ava and Hollie; sister-in-law, Julie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter Becky Van Driessche; daughter-in-law Christine Satkowiak and sister Joyce.
A short service will be held at 12:30 PM, Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry Street, Bay City, Michigan 48706. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Military Honors will take place in the parking lot at 1:00 PM. A private burial will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery.
