Stephen (Steve) Wesley Evans, passed away at his Knoxville home on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was the son of Clifford and Reta Evans, brother of Jerry (Marsha) Evans, and Uncle to a special nephew, Ryan (Rachel) Evans. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, Knoxville and an Army Veteran. Steve grew up in Macon, Georgia and was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.S in Business. He was a life-long fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Steve moved to Knoxville to begin his career in refractory sales where he became a dedicated and valuable employee, receiving numerous awards. Even though he traveled throughout the tri-state area, he was able to develop a relationship with his customers, treating them like family rather than clients. Steve met and married the love of his life, Pansie Looney Evans. They were married for 37 years and had two sons, Adam and Aaron Evans, who were his pride and joy. Steve loved his family and welcomed his daughters-in-law, Amanda and Riley into the family with love and open arms. He shared many personal qualities with his sons. His love for sports, his patient and loving parenting skills, and his ability to accept all individuals with love and respect were among many of those qualities. He also showed his encouragement and support to his sons with his presence at both sporting and academic events. If it was important to them, it was important to him. Steve was known for his kindness and generosity. He seldom met a stranger and frequently showered those around him with random acts of kindness. It was his nature to see the good in everyone and he rarely expressed a negative opinion. Steve was an avid golfer. He enjoyed traveling with his golfing buddies from Wesley Outreach Sunday School class as well as going with the refractory golfers to the Don Eller Open in Oklahoma. He received the "Dead Ass Last" trophy several times, which he proudly displayed. He was genuine, and always himself regardless of the circumstances. Few people could touch so many lives so effortlessly for that was simply his nature. He will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank their Bennington Family for their love and support throughout the years of Steve's battle, Pansy's loving Bunco Group and her ESK colleagues and administration. A special thank you to Steve's caregiver, Bridgette King, for taking excellent care of Steve. Steve loved animals and nature. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Young Williams Animal Center. A celebration to honor the life of Steve will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 2025, at the Click Funeral Home-Middlebrook Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 PM prior to the service. A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, in Breaks, Virginia.
