Stephen Rex Hane, 63, of Granite City, IL passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL.
He was born on May 23, 1961 in Brazil, IN to Myron Rex Hane and Judith (Wilson) Hane.
Stephen married Melissa Henke in Nashville, TN on November 2, 2000.
The loving husband and father worked as a printer for U.S. Tape & Label for 24 years. Stephen was a huge Indy car racing fan. He attended the Indianapolis 500 every year. Stephen was also a photographer and he enjoyed riding his bike. He was very passionate about his dogs and he was very active in dog rescue.
Besides his wife and parents, Stephen is survived by 2 daughters: Chelsea (Kyle) Tiefel of Bargersville, IN and Shelby Peters of Greenwood, IN; a son, Andrew (Hannah) Skoklo of Farmington, MO; 5 grandchildren: Jace Tiefel, Zoe Tiefel, Violet Tiefel, Kai Tiefel and Decker Skoklo; a brother, Ryan Hane of Terre Haute, IN and 3 sisters: Lorna (William) Gardner of Danville, IN, Susan (Ben) Thomas of Brazil, IN and Elizabeth (Bryan) Strain of Brazil, IN. Also surviving are many other loving nieces and nephews.
Stephen is preceded in death by a brother, Stuart Ross Hane and a nephew, Trevor Ryan Hane.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, IL. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.
