It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen "Steve" Dale Myers, who peacefully departed from this world on September 1, 2024, in Springfield, MO. He was born on May 22, 1960, in Springfield, MO. to Hershel and Freda (Thomas) Myers. Stephen lived a life filled with dedication and hard work.
Stephen attended Glendale High School. Stephen was a devoted sawmill worker at the Dyke Lumber Company and dedicated himself to his craft. He was a member of Praise Assembly Of God Church and he had attended James River Assembly Of God Church. He was also an active volunteer with multiple organizations through the church. Stephen had also enjoyed sobriety for 15 plus years. His hobbies included Woodworking, Fishing, Puzzles, Plants, Aquarist, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Stephen was preceded in death by his mother and father: Herschel Dean Myers and Freda "Louise" Myers and his grandparents: Olive and Ervin Myers.
As a loving father, Stephen leaves behind his son, Shawn Myers, and Taylor Hill and daughters: Tina and Jacob Tyson, and Lindsey and Jay Barnett to cherish his memory. His children will continue to honor his legacy and carry forward his values of hard work and perseverance. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Kristopher Myers, Leanna Teal, Alicia Myers, Stormie Teal, Jayce Barnett, Kynlee Barnett, and Oakley Myers and one great-grandchild: Fallon Sumner, and his brothers and sisters: Debbie and Jim O'Neal, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Myers, Pam Smith, Randy Myers, Danny and Georganna Myers, plus a myriad of family, and many other relatives and close friends.
In reflecting upon Stephen's life, we remember a man who found joy in simplicity, who worked diligently to provide for his loved ones, and who touched the hearts of many with his kindness and generosity.
Join us in celebrating the life of Stephen Dale Myers at the upcoming funeral service. A visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. We are saddened to hear of Steve´s passing. We are unable to be there but would love you to know what a kind, caring man we found Steve to be. We attended Sunday School at Praise Assembly with Steve and always enjoyed talking with him and his input. We are so sorry for your loss. David and Teresa Hardin
