MONROE TOWNSHIP – DR. STEPHEN "STEVE" ROSENBERG passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. He was 85 years old.
Steve was born on November 2nd, 1938, in Bronx, NY to Irving and Mildrid Lillian (née Rosenbloom) Rosenberg.
After graduating from Lafayette College in 1959 and earning his Doctoral degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1963, he moved with his wife, Naomi, to North Brunswick, New Jersey, where he opened his optometric practice.
Prior to retiring in 2015, he was a self-employed optometrist. After leaving North Brunswick in 2010, Steve and Naomi settled down in Monroe Township, NJ.
Steve enjoyed his music and loved playing the piano, enjoyed watching and discussing sports, and spending time with his friends and family.
Steve is predeceased by his parents, Irving and Mildrid Rosenberg; his brother, Martin Royce and his wife, Sheila; and his eldest son, Ron Rosenberg.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Naomi (née Wolf) Rosenberg of Monroe Township; his sons, Mark Rosenberg and his wife, Traci, Ira Rosenberg and his wife, Lucy; his daughter, Elynne Gold and her husband, Ronen; and his daughter-in-law, Maris Rosenberg. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Carly, Ariel, Josh, Emily, Erik, Jaret and Talia, as well as three great grandchildren, Zoey, Remi, Augusta.
A chapel service will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10:15 am, at MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ, followed by interment at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus. For directions, please view our "Events" listed below.
