Stephen Siegel Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 14, 2025.
It is with a deep sadness that words will forever do injustice to that I announce the passing of my beloved, my best friend, the love of my life Stephen Louis Siegel. He died at the young age of 33 peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 15th, after bravely, calmly battling a grade 3 astrocytoma brain cancer for nearly 11 years.
Stephen was born at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, California, on March 30th, 1992 a minute after his fraternal twin brother Alan to parents Linda & Sheldon Siegel, attending Bacich Elementary, Kent Middle and Redwood High, making some of his closest friends along the way.
He will always be remembered for his mischievous smile and spirit, endless positivity in the face of near endless adversity, his loyalty and championing of those he loved, as an avid sportsman and huge San Francisco Giants fan, and as someone who valued friendship and laughter.
From Redwood High, he went to USC, where he majored in Applied Math/Economics, and met the love of his life, me, Lauren Fields. He was and will continue to be my steadiest support, my rock. As I pulled him along on my crazy dreams, we traveled around the world to 20 countries, trekking into the Amazon, jumping out of a plane in New Zealand, and building our dream home in Culver City from the studs up. The truth was I never had to convince him. He was always game for anything and his commitment to me was never in doubt.
Shortly after graduating from USC at 22, he was dealt one of the most unfair hands life can give you by being diagnosed with brain cancer that had a median average survival of 5 years. He made it an amazing 11 years after diagnosis, and in his short 33 years of life, he managed to touch so so many people. He joked about his ability to impress any Jewish mother but it wasn't about him being a doctor or a lawyer it was about his ability to truly connect and have a genuine heartfelt moment with whoever he spoke to. He was funny, kind and put on no pretense or affect.
Spending most of his professional career (7+ years) at Scopely, a mobile gaming company in Culver City, he had fun starting up and coaching the company softball team and loved bringing our golden retriever Rosie with him to work, sharing her with his colleagues.
In our nearly 15 years together, we met at the tender age of 19, he taught me life's greatest lessons, gave me the greatest love and partnership and helped me accomplish my dreams one after another even down to the female golden retriever and soon our daughter, who is due end of January 2026. I will love and miss him to the end of my days.
Stephen is survived by his wife Lauren Fields, daughter due January 2026, precious golden retriever Rosie, parents Linda & Sheldon Siegel, brother Alan, parents-in-law Debra & Gary Fields, siblings-in-law David, Fatim, Dan and Daron, and nieces and nephews Dylan, Elton, Bode and Jovi as well as a sea of aunts, uncles and cousins in the extended Harris/Siegel/Garber clan, who will all miss him dearly.
