Stephenie Michelline Winston, 52, of Suffolk, VA, was called home on October 7th, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 8th, 1972, in Hampton, VA, Stephenie was a devoted mother to her four children, always placing her family at the center of her world
Stephenie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where her gentle nature and compassion touched the lives of many. She was known for her strength, resilience, and the deep care she showed for others. Though she always dreamt of traveling, health challenges prevented her from fulfilling that wish. However, she embraced the beauty of life in her own way, finding joy in the things she loved most.
Stephenie had an enduring passion for R&B music, with artists like Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, and Musiq Soulchild being the soundtrack to her life. She also cherished watching cartoons, often finding delight in shows like Scooby-Doo, Code Lyoko, The Boondocks, Kids Next Door, and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
Stephenie is preceded in death by her mother Teresa Green and father Ogden Winston.
She is survived by her son Amelio Cruz Caceres and spouse Darwin Cruz Caceres ; her daughter Ameliana Moerke & spouse Dillon Moerke; her son Mario Dodson and spouse Brianna Dodson; and her son Marlin Dodson; Brothers Kem Winston and Aaron Taylor; sisters Teresa Winston, Monique Winston, and Tara Winston; Grandchildren Adonis Dodson, Aurora Dodson and Eden Dodson; Partner Tony Bynum; and a great number of Nieces and Nephews, all of whom will deeply miss her presence. Stephenie's warmth, humor, and unwavering spirit will be forever missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that while she may not have traveled the world, she journeyed through life with an incredible heart and left a lasting legacy of love.
