Steve Hampton, 66, of Pittsburgh, was born June 6, 1957, in Cleveland, OH. He was the beloved son of the late Marion Hampton and Elizabeth Dinky (Mitchell) Dumas.
Steve, affectionately known as "Stevie", was the sixth out of his nine siblings.
He graduated from Clairton High School. Over the years, Stevie held various jobs such as a laborer in the construction industry and assisting those in need with transportation. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He took pride and was devoted to caring for his son, Tyrell.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing chess and watching sports. But most of all, he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Stevie was a member of Living Waters International Church in Clairton, PA. He enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He was strong in his belief and was passionate about the Word of God. He enjoyed a healthy debate about the Word. Stevie also had a ministry of help! He loved to assist people and regularly checked on family and friends. Stevie truly had a heart for family and enjoyed the times of fellowship. He was a devoted family man!
Stevie departed this life on May 18, 2024, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital in McKeesport, PA. He was preceded in death by his father Marion Hampton; Mother Elizabeth Dinky (Mitchell) Dumas; sisters Zenita E. Mitchell, and Pearl R. Harris; brothers Carl K. Hampton, and Morris Hampton.
Stevie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 28 years, Nicole; children Steven (Rita) Brim, Shyla Hampton, Chaz Hampton all of Harrisburg, PA, Tashea (Antoine) Johnson of Philadelphia, PA, Dandrea "Nanii" Hampton of Harrisburg, PA, Derrick Hampton, Tyrell Hampton, and Talayshia Hampton all of Pittsburgh, PA; 19 grandchildren; siblings Linda (Earl Sr) Wanzo of Clairton, PA, Betty Jean Hampton of Clairton, PA, Samuel Hampton of McKeesport, PA, Doreatha (John) Cunningham of Winston Salem, NC, Hazel Hampton of Raleigh, NC, Paul Hampton and Rebecca Hampton of Ohio; in-laws James (Sandra) Davis, Sandra (Keith) Evans, Ralphael Davis, and James Davis Jr all from Harrisburg, PA; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
