Steven (Steve) Charles Barth, loving father and husband, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 73, in Kennesaw, Georgia. Steve is survived by his sons, Dylan (Casey), Travis (Ramsey), and Trevor (Sarah); and his grandchildren, Xavier, Ezra, Trenton, Thayer, Tabitha, Ari, and Esther. He is predeceased by his wife, Terri, and his brother, James.
Born on January 30, 1951 in Sarasota, FL, Steve grew up in Wauconda, IL, graduating from Wauconda High School in 1969. He went on to finish trade school and became a certified mold maker, spending his career in the plastics industry, first as a mold maker, then as a designer, and ultimately as the co-owner of his own business, Ultra-Cam.
Steve married Terri Tudor in 1982, and together they moved to McHenry and raised three sons. Steve was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a paragon of stability and support. He was well-known for his Saturday steaks on the grill followed by Sunday morning pancake breakfast. He insisted on shirts but no hats at the table, one of the many lessons he imparted upon his children.
For 40 years, Steve spent a week every year in the Boundary Waters of Ely, MN, backtrolling for walleye at his favorite fishing spots, places known by the group as Jack's Reef, Barth Bay, and simply, The Island. He shared his passion for fishing with his close friends, sons, and grandchildren. Steve also loved playing volleyball on his team, the Thunder Lizards, where he was known as the one and only "Thunder Daddy." He even coached kids volleyball to encourage love of the sport among a younger generation.
Steve spent his final years in Kennesaw, GA, with Terri, Travis, and Ramsey, bravely staring down Alzheimer's Disease until his passing. He will be remembered as a generous, genuinely good guy who would do anything for his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend Steve's memorial on Sunday, February 23, 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Lindy's Landing, located at 115 Park St, Wauconda, IL.
