Steven H Crawford

MANITOU BEACH – Steven H. Crawford, age 76, of Manitou Beach, passed away at his residence while in the care of his family on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born in Ypsilanti on April 28, 1949, to the late Richard and Mary "Irma" (Caroen) Crawford. After attending school, Steven served in the United States Air National Guard, from February 1969 until February of 1975. On June 21, 1985, he married Diana L. Dermyer, in Toledo, and she survives. Steven worked for General Motors until his retirement.
Steven enjoyed a variety of things in his lifetime; however, his most cherished moments were spent with his grandchildren and family. He was an avid lover of history. If you needed to know anything about history, he was your guy. Then came his love of old westerns, the sci-fi channel, as well as anything where he could gain more knowledge; including "How Things Are Made". As his family would tell you, he was a man of many talents. He could build anything out of wood and his humor and wit were quick and had no end. He also enjoyed being around water, fishing, boating, and traveling. He collected hats and canes, and enjoyed the Detroit Tigers, his dogs, boats, and sports car. He carried on his mother's love of plants which could be found plentiful in and around their home.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Diana; sons, Aaron and Shannon Crawford and Kevin (Debbie) Iffland; daughters, Keila (Brian) Kilgore and Misty (Ric) Hunt; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Holly Starr and Laurie (Bill) Waugh; step-father, Jim Eppel; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Crawford and his mother, Mary "Irma" Eppel.
Visitation for Steven will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison. Funeral services and interment will be private. Pastor Mel Cure will officiate and military honors will be accorded by the Onsted Honor Guard.
