COMO, NC – Steven Wayne Harrell, age 59, passed away on March 10, 2024, due to natural causes. He was born on June 10, 1964, in Petersburg, VA. Steven dedicated his career to cable pulling for a telecommunications company, showcasing his strong work ethic and commitment to his profession.
Outside of work, Steven found joy in yard work and landscaping, hobbies that brought him peace and satisfaction. He cherished his loyal companion, his dog "Tillie," and took great pleasure in their time together. A true patriot, Steven had a deep love for his country and was proud to be an American. His politically minded nature reflected his passion for current events and national affairs.
Steven is survived by his brother, Ricky Harrell (Georgia) of Como, NC, and sisters Sherrie Stephens (Irvin) of Como, NC, Pat Keeter (Dean) of Courtland, VA, Cathy Turner (Steve) of Como, NC, and Susan Parker (Al) of Como, NC; six nieces and four nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter R. Harrell, and mother, Louise Story Harrell.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Mt. Horeb Church Cemetery in Franklin, VA; with Rev. Bob Deacon and Reno Galdenni officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas, 66675-8516; or you may donate online by clicking here
Steven Wayne Harrell will be remembered for his hard work, love for his family, and dedication to his country. May he rest in peace.
