It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Anthony Marshall, born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on April 3rd, 1966. He left this world peacefully on January 26th, 2025, in Houston, Texas, with his daughters holding his hands.
Steven grew up in Bowling Green alongside his beloved younger sister, Andrea Carol. His childhood was filled with laughter, adventure, and mischief, as he embraced the simple joys of being a kid in the Midwest. Football was a passion he carried into high school, where he was known not only for his talent on the field but also for his unwavering team spirit-a trait that would stay with him throughout his life. Whether in sports, work, or family, Steven's dedication to the power of unity and teamwork shaped his character and influenced everyone around him.
In the late 80s, Steven answered the call to serve his country by joining the U.S. Navy, where he worked as a radioman. His time in the Navy was a testament to his commitment to service, discipline, and duty, qualities that would serve him well in the years to come.
But it was in the role of fatherhood that Steven truly found his purpose. When this sacred duty called, Steven embraced it with all his heart. Over the next thirty-five years, he poured himself into raising his daughters, caring for his family, and being the rock that they needed him to be. His love was endless, and his patience unwavering. No task was too big, no challenge too great when it came to the well-being of his family.
Throughout his life, Steven's faith grew ever deeper. He developed a close, personal relationship with the Lord, and it was in this walk with God that he found the strength to guide his self and his family. For a time, Steven served as the Men's Director at his home church, Fountain View Pentecostal, where his leadership and example left a lasting impact on his church family.
Steven will be remembered for his kindness, his selflessness, and the love he so generously gave to those around him. He was a humble man of peace, faith, and resilience-qualities that will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Nelia Christine and Natalie O'linda, who strive so hard to embody and live the values and traits he worked so hard to instill. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the lessons he imparted through his example. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Setorias Marshall, and is survived by his daughters, his grandchildren, his sister, and many others whose lives he touched in countless ways.
Rest in peace, Steven. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in all of us.
