On March 1st, 2025, at around 9 a.m., our world lost a bright light far too soon. Steven Andrew Wine, a beloved husband and father, was taken from us in a tragic motorcycle accident. He had just turned 28-a young man with so much life ahead of him, so many dreams left to chase, and a family he adored with every fiber of his being.
Steven was the kind of person who made everyone around him better. At work, he wasn't just a co-worker; he was the heartbeat of the team. A true company man, he always poured his energy into his conviction of doing what he believed was best for the business overall. In the shop, you'd hear his worship music playing, a reflection of his deep love for Jesus. He didn't just play those songs for himself-he ministered to everyone through them, sharing his faith in a way that was gentle, genuine, and impossible to ignore.
Beyond work, Steven poured his energy into the things and people he loved most. He had a deep passion for all things engines. Whether it was working on cars, his truck, go-karts, dirt bikes, motorcycles, or four-wheelers, he was always eager to fix them up, ride them, and share that enthusiasm with others. Steven loved baseball growing up and carried that love into adult/church softball leagues, even having aspirations to start his own team this year. He also had a love for golf, playing in tournaments with family and friends, or simply enjoying a round of 18 whenever he could. He cherished his time at the park with his wife and kids, often meeting up with coworkers and friends who had children around the same age. And when football season rolled around, Steven took charge, organizing and leading Fantasy Football leagues that brought everyone together in friendly competition. No matter what he was doing, he made sure to include those around him, turning every moment into an opportunity to bond, laugh, and create lasting memories.
But nothing mattered more to Steven than his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of just under five years, Kassandra, and an incredible father to his two beautiful children, Mason (4) and Maddison (1). He strived every day to be the best dad and husband he could be, pouring his heart into building a future for them. Steven and his wife had been saving tirelessly for a down payment on their first home, where his young, growing family could put down roots, make memories, and feel secure. It was a dream he spoke about often, his eyes lighting up with pride and hope. In fact, he was heading into his second job, where he worked part-time to help save for this goal when the accident happened.
Steven's generosity knew no bounds. Whether it was lending a hand to a friend, sharing a kind word, buying a coworker lunch, sending a gift card in a time of need, or simply being there when you needed him, he lived his life with an open heart. His faith wasn't just something he talked about; it was something he lived, every single day. This loss has left a hole in our lives that words can't describe. Steven gave so much to all of us-his time, his love, his faith.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Wardell Wine. He is survived by his wife, Kassandra Rose; and his two children, Mason Wesley and Maddison Rose. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Vernich; sister Chrissy Wine; stepsister Beverly (Wine) Offer; and many, many other extended family members.
Steven will be missed dearly! A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 22nd at 11:00 am at River of Life Church, 7408 Patriot Highway, Spotsylvania, VA 22551.
