Sue A. Arnold

Sue A. Arnold, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the family home in Cloverdale, IN surrounded by her family after nearly a year battling cancer. She was born June 12, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Russell W. and Pauline N. (Ruth) Fisher. Sue was a graduate of Shortridge High School, where she excelled in track and pursued her interests at Ball State University. She studied Home Economics, Art and began working in the travel and hospitality field shortly after her marriage to the late J. David Arnold. Sue was a long time resident of Greencastle, IN, running the Home Laundry & Cleaners. In 1984, she opened a clothing store, Size-Wise Clothing and added an additional store in Lafayette, IN. She was involved in Tri Kappa and Indiana Epsilon Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. She was an avid sports fan, loved the Colts, her family, her home, her dog (Boomer) and trips to Hilton Head and the Covered Bridge Festival with her friends. She enjoyed working out, gardening and lunches with family and friends. She competed in the Indy 500 Mini-marathon for her 50Th birthday. Sue loved swing dancing with her brother, R.David Fisher and seeing musicals at Beef and Boards. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, J.David Arnold (2019). Funeral services will be Friday, July 28, 2023, with viewing 11:00-1:00 pm with service at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Kim (Nick) Reinhart and Kandi (Mike) Richey; son, Chris (Lisa) Arnold; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, her brother R. David Fisher (Julia), cousins and friends.
