Sue Ellen (Leyda) Fiddler,
Went home to be with the Lord Tues., Mar. 11, 2025. She was a resident of East Sparta and was born Apr. 11, 1949, in Dellroy, a daughter of the late Earl and Gladys (Totten) Leyda. Sue was a 1968 graduate of Sandy Valley High School and was a member of the Church of the Open Door. Sue was employed as a Housekeeper at Aultman Hospital as well as a Professional Painter for many years in the community. Prior to that she worked at the Hoover Company until they closed. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many, known for her excellent cookies, and her joy of playing cards with her family and friends. Her favorite saying while playing cards was "Give me the right card and I can go out"
Preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Newman and Pam Sewell, and three brothers, Larry, Dave and John "Tub" Leyda. Survived by two daughters, Amanda (Curtis) Elliott, and Nicole Fiddler; three sisters, Linda Martindale, Dianne Scott, and Bev (Gary) Neuman; two brothers, Tom (Janice) Leyda, and Roger Leyda; and four grandchildren, Gabriel VanMeter, Cassidy Tope, Elizabeth Elliott, and Lane Swihart.
Services will be held Tues. at 1pm in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Friends may call two hours before the service, from 11am to 1pm, in the funeral home. Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
