Susan D. Cecil, 65, of Lapel, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville following an extended illness.
She was born on October 8, 1959, in Decatur, Illinois to Glenn and Anna Marie (Archer) Johnston. She was a 1977 graduate of Richmond High School. She earned her associate's degree as a certified dental assistant from I.U. School of Dentistry. She had worked for Wright & Wheeler Dentistry.
Susan was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel. She loved crafting, shopping and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She was a member of the Northern Indiana Emmaus Community. She loved her granddog, Finley. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Susan is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Cecil; her daughter, Bailee (fiance, Spence) Cecil; her mother, Anna Marie (Archer) Johnston of Richmond; two brothers, Douglas (wife, Brenda) Johnston of Richmond and Brian Johnston of South Bend; two sisters, Nancy Hannon of South Bend and Gail Mungoven of Richmond; a brother-in-law, Scott Cecil of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Rev. Scott Taylor officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Prairie Lakes Health Campus and Majestic Care in McCordsville for their loving care of Susan.
