Susan Patricia Dannels Webb departed this life on Saturday, August 2, 2025, after a courageous fight against aggressive cancer.
She was born on March 26, 1956 in Charlotte, NC, the third daughter of James William and Shirley Lindauer Dannels. She grew up in the Derita area and graduated from Statesville Road Elementary, Ranson Junior High, and North Mecklenburg High Schools. Susan attended UNC-Chapel Hill for one year and finished her education at Central Piedmont Community College, earning an Associate Degree. She went on to a thirty-year career in the Mecklenburg County Property tax office. She enjoyed her retirement.
Susan married Bert Edward Webb on March 7, 1992. Together they raised four Shih Tzus.
Those who knew Susan enjoyed her sense of humor, her kindness, her compassion, and her ability to keep a secret. She often spoke fondly of her co-workers and friends. She loved classical and country music, penguins, and Shih Tzu puppies.
Susan is survived by her husband, Bert, sisters Molly Heller, Amy Dale, Sally Reynolds, and Beth Bennett, four nieces, four nephews, fourteen great nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Charlie. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Joseph.
Susan was active in her church, Derita Presbyterian, singing in the choir and serving on the Prayer team. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00, Derita Presbyterian Church, 2230 W. Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262, Reverend Hinton, officiant. Her ashes will be placed in the Church Columbarium following the service.
To honor Susan's memory, we suggest a donation to one of her favorite causes, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Red Cross, animal rescue, and organizations that support victims of domestic violence, or the charity of your choice.
