Susan E. Larkin (Sue to those who loved her), age 81, of South Euclid, OH, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, lovingly surrounded by her big sister Karen, niece Stephanie, and great-nephew Tristan.

Sue was born on November 16th, 1943, in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA, to R. Kenneth and Margaret E. Larkin (nee Reid). In 1946, the family relocated to Ohio, and she grew up in Euclid, in an area affectionately referred to as "the projects" by her and her siblings. As a child, Sue was a tomboy and loved playing baseball with the neighborhood boys, as long as she got to pitch!

She went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Education, graduating from Cleveland State University in 1967.

Sue spent her entire teaching career at Joseph F. Landis Elementary School in Cleveland, OH. Outside of work, she was a lifelong fan of Cleveland sports, an avid reader, and a passionate advocate for education and women's rights. Friends and family remember her kindness, loyalty, quiet strength, and unwavering honesty.

Sue was a beloved sister, aunt, friend, and teacher. Never having had children of her own, she was especially cherished by her many nieces, nephews, and their families. She was more than Aunt Sue. She was a second mother, a friend, a confidante, and a safe haven. To a very special few, she was Bomb Diggity.

Sue is survived by her sisters, Karen Knirnschild (nee Larkin) and Margaret 'Peggy' Krinsky (nee Larkin); sister-in-law, Virginia 'Ginny' Larkin (nee Wolfe); nieces, Margaret Kurcsak (Joe), Julie Meyer (Mark), Mary Jo Ashdown, Diana Larkin-Larsen, and Stephanie Knirnschild; nephews, Mike Knirnschild (Judy), and Sean Larkin (Anita); 13 great-nieces, 10 great-nephews, 12 great-great nieces, 9 great-great nephews, and countless friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, R. Kenneth and Margaret E. (nee Reid) Larkin, brother, R. Kenneth Larkin Jr.; niece, Karen Helen II (nee Knirnschild) Battocletti; nephew, Rick Flory; great-nephew, Santi Vandervoort; and her dear friend, Carol Ford.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Sue to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, 13815 Coit Rd., Cleveland, OH 44110.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 17th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the SCHULTE & MAHON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 5252 MAYFIELD ROAD, LYNDHURST, OH 44124 (BETWEEN RICHMOND AND BRAINARD) and in the family room of St. Ambrose Church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 18th, beginning at 12:00 Noon at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH 44212. The Mass will be live streamed on the funeral home website. Luncheon to follow at the church.
