Susan Kay Musson, aged 71, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025. She was born in Arkansas City, KS on August 12, 1953 to Wesley Lee & Shirley Kay (Bowser) Musson. She was raised in Dodge City, KS and graduated from Dodge City Senior High in 1971. She became a long time resident of Wellington, KS.
Susan was known for her generosity and caring for those in need. She was passionate about all animals. She contributed significantly to the Wellington Food Bank and The Angel Tree as she was Assistant Director from the mid 80's, then becoming the Director for 10+ years. Susan was proud to serve as the secretary for the VFW Women's Auxilliary for several years along with working the Bingo Nights at the VFW Hall for many years.
She is survived by her fur baby Tink; sisters: Sandy Musson, Leanne Watts (Gene), Lori Jones (Greg); nephew, Marc Brownlee (Audra); nieces: Mandy Traffas (Brett), Brooke Jones, Drs. Sidney Patten (Corey), Aubrey McMillen (Jeff); great nephew, Cooper Traffas, great niece, Chloe Traffas, and and aunt, Donna Campbell. Susan was preceded in death by parents Wesley & Shirley Musson.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Wellington Food Bank in Susan's memory.
She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
