Mary Suzan Satterfield, 74, of Laurens, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of November 24, 2025. Born on March 21, 1951, in Laurens, she was the beloved daughter of the late James Ernest Kinard and Zelma Oglesby Kinard, and the sister of the late Stanley Harvey Kinard.
Suzan leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her children, William Tracy Brown (Lisa), Tammy Brown Chesney (Red), and Thomas Pinkney Brown (Lorri); grandchildren, Trey Brown (Morgan), Tyler Brown (Ashley), Payden Burton (Caleb), Brantley Brown, Devyn Brown, Levi Chesney (Jen), Camron Chesney (Jill), Delayne O'Donnell (Jacob); great grandchildren, Wayne Brown, Eliza Brown, Coe Brown, Lucy Chesney, Bailey Chesney, Brooklyn Chesney, Lucas O'Donnell, and Holland O'Donnell; and a sister, Linda Kinard Moreland.
She was known for her strong-willed spirit and unwavering devotion to her family. Some of her happiest moments were spent cheering on her favorite teams-the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves-never missing a chance to celebrate a win or groan at a loss. She found daily joy in the companionship of her beloved dog, Harry, who was always by her side.
Suzan was lovingly known for her determination-once she set her mind to something, she held to it with conviction. Her strength of spirit shaped every part of her life. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she expressed her love not only in words but in the countless ways she cared for those around her. She absolutely adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with her whole heart and cherished every moment spent being part of their lives.
A Funeral Service will be held at the 2:00 pm on Friday, November 28, 2025, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Rev. John Huckaby. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
