Susan Schneider Obituary

Susan Lynn Schneider, of Covington, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 59. Mrs. Schneider was a magnetic, charming, and beautiful woman—funny, smart, unapologetic, and full of life. Married for 37 years to the love of her life, she and her husband raised three children through love, perseverance, and grit. With little money and few resources, she gave her family everything she could, and she did it with strength and determination.

She loved deeply—her family, her dogs, her garden, and especially her grandson, Charlie, who called her “GiGi.” Being his GiGi was her greatest joy. She loved looking at him, playing with him, hearing about him, and showering him with love and surprises.

Mrs. Schneider never met a stranger. Whether talking to her customers at State Farm or chatting with someone in the grocery store line, she made everyone feel seen and valued. Curious and quick-witted, she loved true crime stories, reading, and trying new things—from risotto to rollerblading.

She was passionate about family traditions, especially birthdays and holidays, and was known for her sharp mind, strong opinions, and loyal heart. She made mistakes and faced hardships, but she lived life authentically, on her own terms, and with deep love. Her family will forever feel her influence and her love in all they do.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Linda Funk.

Survivors include her husband, Scott Schneider; daughters, Mandy Petrey (Daniel), Sarah Schneider; son, Josh Schneider (Mandy); grandson, Charlie Petrey; sister, Sherrie Feldman;

Brother, Michael Funk; as well as several nieces and nephews.
