Susan Elizabeth Verre

Susan Elizabeth Verre, 50 of Plymouth passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday morning September 12, 2023, with her sister Sarah and brother Danny by her side. Known to family & friends as Sue, Susie Q & the Angel. Susan was the much loved daughter of Daniel Patrick "Pat" Verre and Anne Cecilia (Fee) Verre who predeceased her. Susan is survived by her sister Sarah Anne Verre & her brother Daniel Patrick "Danny" Verre, Jr. Susan also leaves behind her Aunt Nancy M. (Verre) Sealey and Aunt Patricia Verre, many cousins, friends & neighbors.
Fortunate to have had many dedicated teachers & aides, Susan attended Pilgrim Area Collaborative Schools in Marshfield & Pembroke and then attended Plymouth North High School, graduating in 1994. During & after high school Susan worked many part-time jobs, including at McDonalds in Hanover with her sister. Susan was also very active in Special Olympics and earned medals in swimming, bowling and track & field events. Susan attended Camp Y, a special needs Summer Day Camp in Plymouth. Susan was also chosen to attend Camp Fatima's Exceptional Citizen's Week in the Summers of '88 & 89, sharing wonderful experiences & memories with their dedicated counselors & volunteers.
In her 20's & 30's Susan enjoyed volunteering at the Plymouth Public Library with her father and her brother. She loved the staff and other volunteers and was twice recognized as their "Volunteer of the Month". In the late '90's & 2000's Susan was a greeter with her Mom & Dad at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church in West Plymouth. Susan received the "Blessed Kateri Spirit Award" from Pastor Father Bill Kremmell on 8/19/01 in recognition of "spirited service".
Susan spent long summer days at Plymouth Beach, she loved swimming in the ocean. Susan enjoyed many summer vacations in Ogunquit, ME with her parents and in recent years annual trips to Santa's Village with Sarah and Danny. She loved the Evergreen Motel pool and mini-golf course. Susan also enjoyed many summer days at Aunt Nancy's pool in Chiltonville where family & friends were entertained by her diving & graceful swimming. Never fear Susan always had her Official Baywatch lifeguard "can" handy if someone had trouble in the pool.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to MA Special Olympics, Alzheimer's Association, Cranberry Hospice or the charity of your choice.
A funeral mass for Susan at St. Peters Church, 86 Court Street, Plymouth on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 10:30AM. Visitation with her family will be at the church from 9:30AM 10:30AM. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Hingham.
