Susan Zeigler, 70, of Bucyrus, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Avita Health System in Bucyrus. Her passing was unexpected; however, she had been in failing health.
Susan was born July 15, 1953 in Bucyrus to the late J.C. and Margaret V. (Clinard) Groves and attended Wynford High School. On July 3, 1970, she married Robert E. Zeigler and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2010.
Susan did work some jobs outside the home, but mainly cared for her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed any time spent with her children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren and liked to follow her husband Bob, when he sang and played guitar in his band. They created many great memories over their 40 years of marriage. Susan will be remembered as an independent and sometimes, strong-willed individual. She enjoyed working with flowers around her yard, shopping and was always up for having her hair and nails done. She was a member of the VFW 1078, where she socialized with friends and she enjoyed a close friendship with Jake Utz, who treated her to many motorcycle rides. She loved reading a good book, working jigsaw puzzles, and often watched old western shows on the TV.
She is survived by her children, Shawn (Deana) Zeigler, Kyle (Carla Auck) Zeigler and Bobbi (Darrin) Feichtner; grandchildren, Keeley (Jon) Griffin, Meghan Zeigler, Austin Zeigler, Aubrey Feichtner, Jace Feichtner, Preston Zornes, Cody Taylor, Deidra Taylor, Kody Auck and Kameron Auck; five great grandchildren; siblings, Sandy Barber, Roger (Robyn) Groves and Sarah Miller; close friend, Jake Utz as well as many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob, and siblings, Joyce Newman, June Groves and David Groves as well as a brother-in-law, Bill Barber.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Tuesday, February 13 at Wise Funeral Service, followed by the sharing of memories of Susan to conclude the evening. Memorial contributions can be made payable to the National Kidney Foundation and will be accepted through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her guestbook page.
