Suzanne Lea White, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and dear friend to many, passed away peacefully at her home in Rochester Hills on June 4, 2025, at the age of 71, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Born on May 29, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, Suzanne was the daughter of Lewellan and Gloria Thistle. She was raised in Birmingham and graduated from Seaholm High School, later building a successful career in sales at Phoenix Wire Cloth in Troy, Michigan. Suzanne retired five years ago, but her days remained full, as she poured her heart into her community, especially through her work with the Holiday Helpers program in Rochester-bringing joy to children each Christmas season.
Suzanne had a deep love for nature and animals, cherishing the companionship of her beloved dogs and cats, and taking time to care for the birds and squirrels that visited her yard. An avid gardener, she found peace and happiness in the outdoors. More than anything, Suzanne was the foundation of her family. She gave selflessly, always ready with a solution, a helping hand, or simply her steady presence. Her strength and devotion will live on in those she loved so fiercely.
Suzanne is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Pope, whom she married on August 25, 2006, in Birmingham. She is also survived by her daughter, Kristi (Adam) Mackey; her treasured grandchildren, Kyle, Brooke, and Bailey; and her brother, Rik Thistle. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Keith Thistle.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Gramer Funeral Home, Diener Chapel, 48271 Van Dyke Avenue, Shelby Township, Michigan 48317.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Suzanne's name may be made to All About Animals Rescue in Warren, reflecting her lifelong compassion for the creatures she so dearly loved.
