Sylvia Daughtery, 79, Beaver Dam, Claypool, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 24, 2025, at her home, after a courageous battle with lymphoma.
Sylvia was born on August 8, 1946, in Emma, Ky., to Glover and Cardella Collins.
On June 14, 1963, she married Clyde Slone; he passed away from cardiac arrest on Dec. 31, 1981. Sylvia married Clinton Daugherty on March 27, 1997; he survives in their Claypool home.
Sylvia was a devout Christian and of the Pentecostal faith. She believed in Jesus Christ and shared her faith with anyone who would listen. John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
She loved her family unconditionally. She wanted to be around and with her family as much as possible.
Sylvia also is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Slone-Grant; three sons, Bill Slone (and wife Kimberly Lockridge-Slone), David Slone and Daniel Slone; her six stepchildren, Garland Daugherty, Janice Bolling, Jerlene Franks, Dolly Daugherty, Nichole Night and Dolinger Daugherty; her sister, Geraldine Mangun; a very special granddaughter, Veronica Parra; grandchildren, Kayla, Brody and Katerina Slone; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives too numerous to count.
Sylvia also was preceded in death by two half sisters, Opal Woods and Carrie Poe; a half brother, O.C. Jarrell; five brothers, Connie Collins, Charlie Collins, twins Ekay and Elsie Collins, Sturgill Collins; a sister, Della Mae Collins; and a number of step-siblings and half siblings.
A Life Celebration visitation for Sylvia will take place on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN 46580 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed immediately by her funeral service at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Glenn Hall. Burial will process to Graceland Cemetery in Claypool.
Memorial donations can be made to the Kosciusko Cancer Care Fund.
