He attended Scott Schools in Espy and then joined the United States Marine being honorably discharged June 2, 1956. After being honorably discharged he started his family business Ted Heaps Container Service May 1, 1965. After retirement he enjoyed 24 winters in Florida. When Ted wasn't working, he was riding around on his golf cart and going hunting. He was a member of Rock Run Assembly of God Church, the Gideons, and a life member of the Millville Fire Co. In the mornings you could find Ted at the Table of Knowledge at the Alley Cat Eatery.
Ted is survived by his loving wife the former Lana B. Kitchen, whom he married September 10, 1955, four children: Ted Heaps Jr. wife Cindy of Millville, Roberta Chapin husband Curt of Nescopeck, Robin Glidewell husband Randy of Millville, Helen Johnson husband Linc of Millville, 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. As well as four siblings: Gloria Bittner husband David of Bloomsburg, Connie Levan wife Judy of Bloomsburg, Robert Levan wife Jane of Bloomsburg, and Joni Welgus of Wilkes Barre.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents as well as stepfather William Levan, who raised him, granddaughter Amy Glidewell, three sisters: Dorothy Long, June Steward, Donna Gardner, two brothers: William Heaps and Charlie Heaps, stepbrother Harold Levan, and stepsister Elva Shaffer.
Services will be Saturday January 11, 2025, at noon at New Testament Assembly of God Church, 2376 PA-42, Millville, PA, 17846 with Pastor James Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow at Jerseytown Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:00 am until the time of service at the church.

So sorry for your loss. I know he will be missed by meny family and friends. Sorry I can not attend but will remember every one in my prayer. Lana I know you will miss him but we know he is in a better place.
