Terry Ajamie Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Terry Ajamie, 77, of Akron, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, October 16, 2025, after a private three-year battle with cancer. Born March 3, 1948, in Akron, Terry was the beloved middle son of Alfred and Lucille Ajamie (both deceased) and brother of Rod (Evelyn) and Gary Ajamie.
Terry graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in business and a minor in psychology. He dedicated his life to his family, faith, friends, and his work. Terry married the love of his life, Linda Ajamie, on August 4, 1973, and together they built a beautiful life centered around their two daughters, Jenny (Charles) Nichols and Melissa Ajamie, and later, his cherished grandchildren, Paisley and Anthony Nichols, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Terry's passion for music was woven into every part of his life. Whether strumming his guitar on quiet evenings, singing along to his favorite classic rock records, or sharing playlists with his daughters on their way to school in the morning, music was his language of joy. Terry formed his first rock band in 1963 with his brother Rod, called "Igor and the Vultures". He lovingly played with other bands for over 60 years, including "The Main Attraction", where they appeared on "Afternoon Exchange" and "PM Magazine" after creating their first record. His last venture was with "Celebration", bringing happiness to all who traveled to see them. From his love of creating home movies with family and friends, to gatherings turning into impromptu jam sessions, Terry led the way with his smile growing wider with every chord on his Fender Stratocaster.
His faith was the foundation of his life. A devoted member of St. Sebastian Church and St. Joseph Melkite Church, Terry lived his beliefs through kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith in God's plan. Terry was on the board of Right to Life, and he found peace and purpose in prayer, attending daily Mass, and cherishing the fellowship of his church community.
Terry also poured his heart into his work at Fiesta Pizza and Chicken on Newton Street in Akron. He began working there at the age of 15, and he never stopped. He became a cornerstone of the business and the community, taking over the business from his dad, Alfred Ajamie, years later. His contagious smile, positive spirit, and caring nature touched everyone he met. He had a gift for making people feel valued and loved-whether through a warm conversation, a shared laugh, or a perfectly baked pizza.
The world lost a true angel, but Terry's legacy of love, music, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333.
