Theodore Ivan LaMaster

Theodore Ivan LaMaster, 37, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

He was born on March 11, 1988, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Mark Alan and Thelma Louise (Wilt) LaMaster. He graduated from Indiana University where he earned his bachelor's degree in physics and math. He went on to earn his master's degree in medical physics at Radiological Technologies University (RTU). He was currently working in cancer radiation therapy and medical consulting.

Teddy was an extremely creative soul. He enjoyed creating music. He had a fantastic sense of humor, He was cheerful, always smiling and making people feel the same.

Teddy was a singer and songwriter. He recorded in Nashville and had music on several apps. His dream was to make music full-time. He enjoyed food and trying new things. He was an amazing cook. He always put all of himself in everything he did.

Teddy was very smart and always had great ideas that amazed his family and friends. During his youth, Teddy was a praise and worship band leader at Florida Station Church of God in Anderson and recently at Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. He loved the crowds and enjoyed getting them involved in his performances of country and rock music. He was a member of the Teddy LaMaster Band.

Teddy put on a country concert to raise funds for cancer awareness. This just shows the kind of person he was. He was loved deeply and loved in return. He loved his kids more than anything. He was a great father.

Teddy could get a deal on anything. He was great at negotiating. He was quite the salesman. He recently became quite the handyman. His dad taught him how to do woodworking. He was a very hard worker.

Teddy is survived by his wife, Nichole Lauren (Shoup) LaMaster; children, Thea Mae LaMaster and Cole Thomas LaMaster; parents, Mark and Thelma LaMaster; siblings, Marcus (Ashley) LaMaster and Hidi (Arin) LaMaster; grandmothers, Virginia Wilt and Agnes Bernice Bess; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Teresa Mae and Mark Ivan Belen; aunts and uncles, Jerry (Linda) LaMaster, Shirley Campbell, Bruce (Barbara) LaMaster, Dolores LaMaster, Margaret (Burl) Philyaw, Mary Jane (Kevin) Green, Ralph (Lori) Wilt and Albert Wilt; nieces and nephews, Tinsley, Simon, Maelyn, Evelyn, Calvin and Madelyn; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Donald and Evelyn LaMaster and Ralph Theodore Wilt; aunts and uncles, Sandra Whitmill, John Campbell, Alice Coomer and Ivan LaMaster.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Jerry Hilligoss and Pastor Doug Doan officiating. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
