Obituary of Theresa Cuda
Theresa "Nin" (Galasso) Cuda passed away on January 27, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on November 17, 1927, in Brooklyn NY. Theresa grew up in Utica, NY. She met her husband Francis in Utica, and they were married on June 14, 1947. They settled in Amsterdam where they raised their family. Married for 56 years, Theresa and Francis had a relationship that was as one, always we, not I or you, until Francis passed in 2003.
Later in life, Theresa became reacquainted with a high school friend, Eugene DelMonte. This companionship lasted until Eugene passed in 2017.
In addition to her husband Francis, Theresa was predeceased by their son Kevin Francis Cuda. She is survived by her daughter Mary Beth Western (Donald J. Western); her sons Gregory N. Cuda (Susan Cantillon-Cuda) and Christopher P. Cuda (Sylvia C. Cuda); Daughter-in-Law, Lynn A. Cuda and is survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Theresa had keen interest in and affection for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they responded in kind. These relationships across generations were a great comfort for her.
Theresa was a great cook in the Italian tradition, created beautiful quilts, loved to garden and spend time with her family. She enjoyed playing tennis and racquet ball with friends. Theresa wintered in Fort Myers Beach and enjoyed long walks on the beach and was a serious collector of seashells.
Theresa will be laid to rest beside her husband Francis at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY.
Friends and family are invited and may call on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11am to 12pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Following visitation, Theresa will be interred at St Mary's Cemetery.
