Funeral services for Thlean Kay Martinez, 62, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Mike Hollenback officiating. Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Plains Trading Post Dance Hall.
Thlean died on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at her home near Douglas with her loving husband at her bedside.
She was born Sunday, June 10, 1962 in Blossburg, Pennsylvania the daughter of Charles Andrew and Bernice Dianne (Schmidt) Connolly. Thlean was raised and educated in Douglas. Thlean and Steve Martinez were married on February 17, 1989 in Douglas.
Thlean worked for Bolln Grocery Store which became Douglas Grocery Store for 25 years, then worked for Pepsi for 10 years, and then worked for Bimbo Bakeries, which she retired from because of health issues.
She enjoyed collecting dolls, pez dispensers, antiques, and fishing. Thlean looked forward to sitting outside at her home observing the beautiful sunsets and sunrises from her patio and family bar-b-ques. She just loved life.
Thlean is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Steve Martinez; children, Justin Swaner, Natasha Combs, Sam Martinez, Arie Martinez, Jamie Martinez, and Tonya Martinez; her siblings, Tim (DaNene) Connolly, Duane (Valieta) Connolly, Cyle Connolly, Shane (Patricia) Connolly, Bridget Ecklund, and Charley (Logan) Scales; and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles, on August 14, 2003; mother, Bernice, on December 21, 2023; and brother, Shawn Connolly, on October 19, 20217.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Central Wyoming Hospice, 809 South Ninth Street, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
The Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
