Thomas D. Baranowski

Thomas Damian Baranowski was born in Bronx, New York, on September 25, 1955, to Edward and Eileen Baranowski. He was the third of seven children in the Baranowski family. In 1960, Ed built his family a home in the Kirk Lake area of Mahopac, New York. Thomas spent his childhood at his beloved lake surrounded by family and friends. Thomas graduated from Mahopac High School in 1974. He was a skilled laborer who worked for many years for M. Farina Construction Group in Mahopac, Thunder Ridge Ski Area in Patterson, and A&S Ignition Company. Thomas settled in his own home in Dover Plains, New York, where he lived with his cherished cats - Charlie, Blacky, and Peanut. Thomas's dedication to helping animals was unwavering throughout his life. Thomas passed away on February 7, 2025, after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Michael, and his nephews, Christopher Baranowski and Matthew Walsh. He is survived by his five siblings - Mary (James) Walsh, Eileen (Donald) Smith, Stephen (Elaine) Baranowski, John Baranowski, and Edward (Catherine) Baranowski. Of all his roles in life - son, brother, and friend - none mattered more to him than being Uncle Thomas. He is survived by his adoring nieces and nephews - Scott (Molly) Smith, Ryan (Megan) Smith, Colleen (Jonathan Dubroff) Walsh, James (Vanessa) Walsh, Caitlin Baranowski, Stephen (Kerry) Baranowski, Alexandra Baranowski, Lauren (Michael) Wesolowski, Jared Baranowski, Michael Mark Baranowski, Michael Francis (Kaitlin) Baranowski, and twelve grand nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 28th at 10AM at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac, NY. Burial of Cremains will follow at the Ballard-Barrett Cemetery in Mahopac Falls.
