Thomas Edward Carroll

Thomas Edward Carroll, 73, of Woodward, Iowa, passed away at home on July 21, 2022. A visitation will be held at Brandt Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, followed by a service at 3:00. A private burial will be held after the service.
Tom is survived by his children, Melissa (Sean) Pelletier, Joseph (TeRay) Carroll, and Ryan (Meighan) Carroll; grandchildren Samuel and Eleanor Pelletier, Cameron, Thomas, Calvin, Haley and Rylee Carroll; and siblings, Jim (Dee) Carroll, John Carroll, and Colleen (Mike) Zeller.
Tom married Debra Jane Skinner, his high school sweetheart, in 1971. They lived in rural Woodward in a house they built together and where they raised their three children. In 2004 Deb passed away due to A.L.S., but Tom never stopped loving her.
Early in his life, Tom spent several years working at Bookey Packing Company in Des Moines, but his true love was the lifetime of farming in Dallas County, or, as Tom called it, "God's Country." Tom raised corn, beans and few hobby cattle, and spent endless hours doing custom baling work. When Tom was not farming he could be found supporting his children at their events or telling lies with his friends. Later in life, Tom enjoyed family gatherings with his kids and grandchildren.
Tom was predeceased by his wife, Deb; his parents, Edward and Theresa (Sweeney) Carroll; and sister, Kathleen (Carroll) Edwards.
